Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health of the Piedmont is a network of parent volunteers working together to provide support and education to families whose children are affected by emotional, behavioral or mental disorders.

Our Mission:

1. To provide support to parents and caregivers of children diagnosed with emotional, behavioral or mental disorders.

2. Help educate families on issues that affect their child.

3. To work with families and professionals to find resources for families in the upstate.

The objectives of Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health of the Piedmont are:

bulletRaise public awareness about mental health disorders in children

bullet

Teach parents essential advocacy skills for their children

bullet

Work with local agencies to help strengthen community supports.

bulletHelp parents find the strengths in their children to nurture them as they grow

bulletShare information and provide opportunities for families to network with others in South Carolina.

Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health of the Piedmont Reinforces:

1.That children with mental health disorders should have appropriate and unbiased access to treatment. Including non-discriminatory insurance coverage.

2. That early diagnosis and treatment of a child's mental health disorder could help prevent an aggravation of symptoms.

3. That children with mental health disorders thrive best when caregivers and educators are able to use methods that recognize and accommodate their medical condition.
